Hugh Hunt

After months of going through old family photos, I finally found him.

Hugh Hunt, born in 1941. Great-Aunt Mabel and Great-Uncle Dalton's only child. 

(he looks like black boy joy in black and white) 

and then I found the Amsterdam News clippings 

"He Dreamed Of Becoming A Doctor: Cop's Bullet Ends Hugh Hunt's Dream" (September 7, 1960, Amsterdam News)

All the black men I see on T.V. The ones who didn't get the opportunity to grow old. 

They remind me of Hugh.

(and all the times when it feels like the system failed you) 

I don't want Hugh to be forgotten.
